Many of those who died were children, killed when their schools were destroyed.  Almost 7,000 classrooms are reported to have collapsed, killing more than 11,000 children and teachers. CCTF is at the forefront of relief efforts to restore schools and orphanages, desperately  needed longer term to bring hope.  CCTF’s efforts complements the work of other agencies focussed on short term shelter, medical and food relief.
