giving sight
12 million children, 4% of all kids in China, suffer from amblyopia (weak sight) and cannot see properly. Children under the age of 13 can be easily and successfully treated. There is a huge demand for poor children to receive our free treatment and go on to worthwhile education and skill training.
In 2002 China Children and Teenagers’ Fund set up a specialised fund to provide children of weak-sighted children with high-quality no-charge treatment. CCTF has since successfully treated over 700 poor children. A medical diagnostic survey is carried out each year in poor remote rural areas to identify cases for treatment. The children identified are brought to Beijing for treatment.
Jackie Chan has sponsored 800 children through this program and last week donated a further CN¥ 2 million. When you donate we promise to provide you with information on the children you help and progress made.
